Soccer Expert Chris Sutton Takes On Artist Murs in Top Flight Predictions

The Gunners' 10-game victorious streak came to an end by Sunderland before the international break, however will the Premier League frontrunners recover against local foes Spurs this weekend?

"{I believe like Arsenal are miles ahead of Tottenham at the moment but Spurs manager Thomas Frank will have a plan for this match," stated soccer specialist Chris Sutton.

"Frank will attempt to nullify Arsenal, who have not always been at their scintillating finest this campaign - but Mikel Arteta's team usually still find a way to win."

Sutton is forecasting results for all 380 Premier League fixtures this term, versus artificial intelligence, readers and a variety of guests.

For week 12, he takes on performer Olly Murs, who is a United supporter.

Murs' latest album, Knees Up, is available on the weekend.

Soccer and Family Life

Murs is a talented footballer as well as a accomplished artist and has been a featured player of several charity football matches down the years - but he is not intending a professional comeback as a footballer.

"{I recently played in a benefit match the other night for a mate of mine," he explained. "The side was trailing 3-1 when I was substituted in the 60th minute, and they proceeded to win 4-3, so you can interpret that what you will!

"I still love football, but I hurt my joint a few years ago and it even now isn't where I want it to be. I hope I could play more but the uncertainty of the sport means it's too risky for me in my career to do it seriously again.

"Plus I am 41 now, and we are not all Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very content not playing football and I am gearing up for the time that my daughter or boy chooses to play instead."

The singer and his spouse Amelia Tank have two children, their daughter and their son, and he is prepared to follow in his father's footsteps by taking on the role of their manager.

"I will not push football on our children but I've previously told Amelia that if they happen to get the passion for it then I will have to go and get my coaching badges - and I will probably be coaching their weekend soccer side," he added.

"I watched my nephews play a lot, and I really got into it, and I obviously owned a football club for a while too.

"My dad coached with us when I was a kid, which is probably where I get it from. He coached our team for two or three seasons and had a wonderful time with it. That could be the future for me as well, and I am excited to it!"

Premier League Predictions

Weekend, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

The Blues might have to be patient for Cole Palmer's return from injury but their attack is now more potent with Joao Pedro and Liam Delap both returned to fitness.

I still think this fixture will be fairly tight, however. The Clarets are disciplined and their only home defeats so far have been against the Reds and Arsenal.

This suggests a 1-1 draw to me, but I am actually going to go with the London side to win narrowly for what would be their third league win in a row.

Sutton's forecast: 1-2

Olly's prediction: The Blues will be too strong. 1-3

Artificial intelligence's prediction: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Cherries have been defeated in their past two games - although both of them were on the road - but they got absolutely spanked by Aston Villa last time out which shocked me.

On the other hand, West Ham won back-to-back victories before the hiatus and, although both of those games were at home, they appear strong again.

The Hammers' only away victory this season came at Forest in August, when West Ham manager Nuno was previously that team's manager.

Therefore, what on earth do I go with here - will it be West Ham continuing their streak under Nuno, or Bournemouth bouncing back?

I am going to choose the Cherries, because I think what occurred against Aston Villa was a anomaly.

The pundit's prediction: 2-0

Olly's prediction: Bournemouth are performing strongly but West Ham have picked up under their boss. 2-2

AI's pick: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Bees were considered one of the favourites for relegation before the season began, but they have impressed a several observers under their manager and are in fine fettle with three wins in their last four matches.

A family member told me to select Bees forward Thiago in my Fantasy Football team a few weeks ago and, unfortunately, I ignored the advice.

Thiago will probably find the net again on Saturday but I am nonetheless not going to pick him or back the away side at Brighton's ground.

The Bees have not had great fortune on the road this season, and the Seagulls are consistently decent at home. The visitors will attempt to attack on the counter-attack but I think Fabian Hurzeler's side pose much more of a threat.

Sutton's forecast: 2-1

The singer's prediction: It could be a match where you think there is going to be a many scores but it in reality proves to be quite close. 1-1

AI's prediction: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

This is a huge fixture for Fulham, who have lost five of their past six matches.

They have have plenty of talent in their squad but it still seems like they could be dragged into a drop zone battle.

Regarding Sunderland, indeed they are the unexpected success of the Premier League campaign so far.

Their performance in the 2-2 tie with Arsenal last time out was superb. We've not witnessed any other team rough up the Gunners like that this season, and they were more than a match for them.

The logical choice would be to support the Black Cats here, because they are clearly capable of disrupting Fulham up too and, the last time they were in west London, they defeated the Blues at the close of last month.

However I am not do that. Rather, I truly need to carry on opposing the away team with my predictions. I am claiming a lot of credit for their good results because they clearly love to defy my predictions.

Looking at the home side's at Craven Cottage record, the only team they have been defeated by is the league leaders. Marco Silva's side will be absolutely desperate for a good outcome, so I am going to say they will secure three points.

Sutton's forecast: 1-0

The guest's choice: I'm aware the visitors are performing strongly and additionally that Fulham are on a poor streak... but Fulham have nonetheless been decent at home this season. 2-0

The algorithm's outlook: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

It is a hard fixture to predict. The Reds have lost seven of their past 10 matches in all competitions, but could they be among the sides who benefit from the {international break|
