Brian Eno Calls On Support to Propel Palestinian Solidarity Song to UK Festive Top Spot.

A charity drive is aiming to launch a Palestinian lullaby to the Christmas number one spot. The project seeks to send support to Gaza's residents while also spotlighting Palestinian culture and creativity.

A Chance for Unity and an "Surprise Victory"

Musician and artist Brian Eno, who features on the track, stated that the release called 'Lullaby' represents a chance to support Palestinians during the holidays. He acknowledged the potential for an surprise number one.

“It would be fantastic if that occurred, yes,” he commented. “I wouldn't be completely disappointed if it doesn’t, holiday tracks are a thing unto themselves.”

Resilient Spirit of Dignity and Freedom

Palestinian singer Nai Barghouti, who sings on the version of a traditional lullaby called Yamma Mwel El Hawa, explained the track's defiant core message.

“The song holds a profound significance for many individuals,” Barghouti explained. “The essence is that I would rather die in dignity than live a life without freedom. This is the primary message of the song; we want to live a dignified life that we merit as a people.”

Recording Origins and Featured Artists

The song was recorded following a solidarity show held in September. Originally intended to be captured during the live event, the piece was omitted from the lengthy event due to the event running long.

The impressive roster of performers appearing on Lullaby encompasses a range of prominent voices from the scene. All were part of the September show, which successfully generated a considerable total for relief efforts.

Final Touches and Availability

Lullaby was produced by a group of talented individuals. The song blends a fusion of the traditional Arabic lyrics with new English lyrics.

The team running the campaign have emphasized that their objective is to collect the highest amount for a charitable pot. These proceeds will be distributed to projects in Palestine through an non-profit partner.

“We haven't set a rigid aim,” a figure commented. “We aim for the maximum achievable. Obviously, the greater the amount, the better. It all goes out to those in need in Gaza.”

The context in the territory was characterized as its widespread damage, with a huge proportion of property said to be levelled or seriously harmed.

“In that context, a couple of million doesn’t make a massive dent. But I think the significant factor is first of all raising awareness for this issue and proving there’s another side to the story.”

The song is launching on Friday. Additionally, a complete film of the benefit event will be made available for streaming on a major video platform from later in the month.
